Yesterday was the beginning of the annual Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop. It's an amazing event that covered the entire state.
There are 78 quilt stores that are participating this year. And I'm visiting them ALL!!
Just kidding.. Almost had you for a minute, didn't I?
I traveled from the East side of Minnesota.. all the way to the West side yesterday. We are spending a weekend with family for some fun and laughs. BUT when I head back home in a few days - I will be stopping at 5 (out of 78) quilt stores along the way. I have already warned my children to pack their patience. And I'm not above using guilt if I need it. "All the times I've stood patiently waiting for you in the toy isle and you can't give me 10 minutes of quiet in a quilt store??"
The Minnesota Shop Hop is so big that every year Moda has a line of fabric devoted just for the hop. And the fabric this year would make a GREAT quilt for camping...
Here are a few of my favorites...
I will let you all know what I find along the way.. maybe I'll stumble on something that's "Giveaway" worthy!
What about you.. Do you Shop Hop?

I did an unofficial shop hop earlier in the month! One day, two states, over two hundred miles ... and four shops. Sheesh! But I spent like I'd visited 78. LOL! :)
Have fun Heidi! The postage stamp print is one of my favorites too. I would choose the lake names, but they left MY LAKE off!!!
I'm amazed that you only need ten minutes at the quilt shop! :)
I hit 4 of the 14 shops in the West Virginia Hop in June. Next year, I'm going for 5! I also had my own little Route 66 Hop in July including Vegas. It's so fun to see how everybody displays things in their own way.
Sounds like fun, you are so lucky to live in a beautiful state surrounded by so many fabulous quilt shops.
"Hopping" around looks to be a real adventure. Love that camping fabric you have posted. Hope you have fun!
Here's hoping you have a blast and the kiddos cooperate! Maybe promise a little surprise if they are good. That generally worked for my boys...but I didn't usually drag them to quilt stores. I wasn't that brave! :-)
I love the idea of Shop hops - unfortunately in Melbourne we seem to have fewer and fewer Quilt and Craft shops. I love the Moda fabric.
Hi Heidi!
Hubby and I just finished the Northwest section yesterday, 9 shops! Yum! Yum! Yum!
My favorite is The Front Porch Quilt shop in Walker. Anderson's in Blackduck Mn has the Best Display!
Enjoy your hopping!
Take care, Leslie
I love shop hopping and plan on doing some this next week! Love the fabric, love love love the fabric. I was lucky enough while on vacation, to pre-order some of the fabric from my favorite vacation stop, Quilter's Cottage in Fergus Falls. Took the stress out of shops running out of my favs. Have fun hopping!
I went to visit my aunt and uncle in southern Minnesota a few years back. It wasn't 'hop' time so I just look up all the shops in about a 50 mile radius and went to it. It was great! There are some wonderful shops there.
In early June my quilting group went on a quilt shop hop. We left Caloundra at 8am and went north, visiting 4 quilt shops along the way and got home at 7.30pm - exhausted but happy. The shops we visited provided refreshments and had special buys for us. What a fun day!!
Just wanted to let you know that I missed the FNSI but that doesn't mean that I didn't participate. You always encourage me! Have fun!!!
Oh wow! My friends and I shop hop about twice a year for the last two years. Love it. It is great fun. That is a lot of shops. Show us the best!!!
Shop hopping sure is fun and every quilt shop has it's own personality :)
Well I'm up in a fairly remote area of Alberta, Canada, so I do my shop hopping online. There are no quilt shops where I live. I hope to open one before Christmas.
