A Valentine's Giveaway

Because it's cold outside..
Because I can't spend more than 5 minutes away from the Fireplace...
Because Valentine's Day is right around the corner...
and because I'm madly in love with WOOL...

It's giveaway time!!

One lucky person will win a little stand just like the one holding my snowman wooly along with a pattern/kit to make a sweet Valentines Wooly!

Here is a better picture of the pattern. All the material is included!

All you need to do is leave a comment.. tell me one of your favorite Valentine's Memories if you have one!

Mine is about my Mom.. when we were kids, she always did something special for each of us kids on Valentines. Sometimes it was a little box of chocolates but one year she crocheted me a RED Heart Pillow with a white lacy ruffle. I have no clue what ever happened to that pillow.. but every year at Valentines.. I think about it and wish I had taken care of it and still had it today!! But you just don't appreciate those things when you are a kid. *sigh*

Anyway.. leave a comment.. tell me your favorite memory.. or you could just tell me who your Valentine is!

Winner announced Wednesday 1/25 at 8pm (or so).

GOOD LUCK!!!

No memories come to mind necessarily, but this year I'll be watching my friends kids along with mine (6 kids total) so I am buying a mini cupcake maker and were having a cupcake decorating party while their parents can have a date night. Fun!

When I was a child (back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth), we took Valentine's to school for everyone in our class. My favorite part was decorating my box to put them in. Some of my first memories of being crafty!

Love both the snowman and hear woolies. My birthday is near Valentine's Day and when I was twelve I was able to invite all the girls in my class to my birthday party with a Valentine theme. I can remember the basement decorated with a million hearts - well maybe, not a million, but that is what I would like to remember.

My maiden name is Valentine My father always bought me and my sister each a heart of chocolate's, for Valenine's Day. As a child I thought everyone had their own holiday, our holiday was Valentine's Day. Thanks for offering a great giveaway. ;->

Awww...sweet memory. One of my favourite Valentine's memories involves my mother too. When I was in grade 10, both of my best friends had really clingy boyfriends and I often felt left out because I didn't have one. On Valentine's Day, my mum tucked a package in my school bag with a card, some candy and a little teddy bear wearing a red vest and hat. It was so thoughtful and kind of her! Especially since Valentine's day wasn't (and still isn't) really a big deal in our family.

I always remember that in the early 80's, my dad brought home a VHS tape - The Making of Thriller. You know, the Michael Jackson video? I think it's the only time that he ever brought us anything for Valentine's Day and we watched it immediately! It was so cool!

An ex-boyfriend used to write me a Valentine poem every year...one year he had a cold while writing, he is the only person I know could work snot into a poem and still be romantic (almost).

My valentine memory is actually my grandmother's memory!! After she passed away, I sorted through her keepsakes. Among them (not many as she was living in a small apartment)was the first Valentine I had sent her when I was a pre-schooler, over forty years before!!
Thanks for the giveaway - found it by chance. I am enjoying reading your blog.

I DO have a special Valentine memory. It's sorta bittersweet, but I love it. My first husband was killed in an accident but when we were just dating, I sent him a Valentine's card that said, "If I follow you home would you keep me?" It was a little puppy dog. 18 years later on our 18th wedding anniversary, he made me a card. It said "After all the years, I would still follow you home." It meant so much to me. One month later he was gone. I still to this day have both of those cards.

Great giveaway! Thank you for the chance. :0)

No special memories, maybe I should try and make it special for my two children as my son wants to go away to school and this could be our last Valentine's day together.

We never really celebrated Valentines day. I just started to do some decorations for it last year as I always read about it in the quilty blogland. And I started a tablemat for this year to. So no memories. But I really want to use the occasion and surprise my loved ones with a little card to say how much I apreciate them.
Thanks for the lovely give away!

My valentine is my husband.......one of my favorite recent memories is of the time we spent (alone) celebrating our 25th Anniversary, we went to a place that we had always dreamed of visiting!

Oh, When I was a little girl, maybe 7 or 8, back in the 60's, My Nanna would make me a dress for each special occasion. That year, for Valentines day, she had ME do an applique heart design around the skirt of a FULL twirl skirt. I'm sure that if anyone were to critique the handwork they would think it was just horrible! But... What a wonderful feeling to be part of making such a special dress, and all the girls in school wanted one just like it!
Thanks for bringing up these memories! Julie

Oh I love that! My favorite memory is from Feb. 14, 1988 - I married the man of my dreams at 1 p.m. This year marks our 24th anniversary. And HE picked the day.... we were engaged but hadn't set a date & went to visit his mother in another state for Christmas. On the way home, he said he didn't want to wait much longer to be married. I was thinking May - he said Feb. 14th. I LOVE that man.... ;-)

Mine is more of a new Valentine story. I have a 4 year old granddaughter and I've been making cards for her. Beginning Feb. 1 I'll send her a card each day until Valentine's Day. I thought it might be fun for her to get mail each day. :)

My Valentine is my husband of almost 28 years. He always buys me chocolates and a large bunch of multi-coloured tulips for Valentines Day, as I don't care much for the hot house type roses. The tulip colours are beautiful and give me many ideas for choosing colours for my quilts. Thanks for the sweet giveaway.

Not much of a Valentine celebrator but I remember a 4th grade Valentine where I wrote to the 'cute' boy in class "Not only today but on everyday do I love you". Yeah. Not good when you're in 4th grade parochial school and the cute boy shows it to everyone in a matter of minutes and you become the laughingstock of the play yard...

My family never really celebrated Valentine's Day, but I do remember taking the little cards to school to give my friends. That was fun! I love the little kit - thanks for the chance to enter!

I remember when I was in 6th grade I made a valentine for this boy that I liked. It turned out really pretty and of course I thought he would love it and hopefully I could be his girlfriend. So later on in the day he walked up and said "thanks for getting glitter all over my cubbyhole! Needless to say I have never made another homemade valentine.
Thanks for the chance to win.

There was always something at the breakfast table for Valentine's Day when I was growing up .... a candy, a pretty card, a special cookie, maybe a flower. My dad would always bring flowers home for his girls .... my mom, my sister, and me. Special times.

Before I gets married. I have a bunch of great friends (single) that will celebrate this day together. We will wear pink color clothes and having dinner at restaurant, then went for shopping mall to shop and go for movie. We buy same valentine gifts to each one of us, so that everyone will have the same gifts from the same person :). Well, we don't have that kind of activity now. We all gets married and celebrate with our own family.

What a great giveaway. One year my ex picked me up from work, blind-fold me and drove me to hotel room. And surprised me with rose petals everywhere, wine and music. That was one of our good moments.

Valentines was not big in England, well not done at school etc to the size that you guys do in the US. That always made me sad, even though thousands say it is another holiday that the card companies have us sucked into, I loved sending valentines. My memory for valentines day is the fact it was the day I arrived in New Zealand coming up to 14 yrs ago. So every year valentines now actually gets celebrated as the day I changed my life. Sometimes I remember to take a cake to work and even one year we had our annual summer bbq on that day and had a big celebration. So valentines day has changed a little in focus for me, although I would love it if one day my husband did some wild thing for me on that day, but I know it will never happen!

Would love to take part inyour giveaway. I've never seen a "wooly" before so this looks extra cool!!!! We tried to get married as close to Valentines Day as possible, but as it turned out the date had to be set to the 23rd Feb (the closest we could get at that time without waiting for years LOL). Then 1 of our sons proposed to his now wife on valentines Day...... so yeah, it's special in those ways to us here :)

This looks like a very fun project - Thanks for the chance to win such a nice prize.
