The winner of the Gold Canyon Candle is - #4 Suburban Stitcher

The winner of the Philosophy Purity Cleanser is - #17 Dara from http://caciescreations.blogspot.com/ (you have to go check out her lemonade stand.. LOVE)

And the last lucky person who won the Lucy Charm pack is - #3 Patty from http://ncweekendquilter.blogspot.com/ (and she loves Lucy's Crab Shack too!)

Send me your mailing address ladies and I will get these off in the mail to you!! Congrats!!

Today happens to be my cousin's, Bobbi (aka Crafty Vegas Mom), Birthday.

And since she happens to be one of my Favorite People... I decided to celebrate by giving away some of my favorite things.

Look at her with her Barbie Cake!!! She's still pretty cute.. just not quite as innocent.

My first Favorite Thing is this Gold Canyon Candle.. in "Ginger Lime" Scent. If you have never tried a Gold Canyon Candle.. you don't know what you are missing. They truly are "The Worlds Finest"!!

My 2nd Favorite Thing is this facial cleanser by Philosophy! I became a philosophy girl in 2005 after my youngest was born. I LOVE philosophy products. Truly the best facial cleanser EVER!!! And it helps that it's a "One Step Cleanser".. because after a crazy day at my house.. the last thing I have time for is a 3 step cleansing process.

And.. it's not just for the girls either! I had my 12 yr old son start using it after he got his first blemish.. AMAZING!!! His skin cleared right up!

And finally.. my 3rd Favorite Thing (right now) happens to be Lucy's Crab Shack fabric that just hit stores. So I'm giving away this charm pack.

All you have to do to enter is tell me what one of your favorite things is!

And don't forget to go to Crafty Vegas Mom and wish Bobbi a Happy Birthday!!!

Quid Pro Quo Part Deux

So you may remember a few months back when I made this trade with one of my Cousins.

Well, this weekend, we made another trade.

I made her this casserole keeper (similar to this one)

She makes a blueberry dessert that I love! So I decided to use blueberry fabric.

And this is what she gave me...

An old window and a screen. I've got big plans for the window! Still not sure what I want to do with the screen though. I'll need to think about that one for a while.

I also got a giant bag of Rhubarb from my Aunt and Uncle. This one had a root on it.. so we put it in a pot and I brought it home. I love Rhubarb. I'll be doing some baking tomorrow for sure.

And, speaking of tomorrow.. I'm planning a giveaway to celebrate someone special. So don't forget to come back and see what it is!

Kids stuff

A friend in Arizona asked me to make a wall hanging for her newest nephew and God Child.. I decided to make a Growth Chart and personalize it.

This is what I came up with...

Those are big giant green buttons sewn on the tree.

I added the parents initials to the tree trunk..

And hand stitched the numbers...

And added baby's name on one cloud. The other has his birthdate and weight. Should have gotten a picture of that.

And I should have cut more of the stabilizer away... didn't notice until it was too late.

She also has 2 other God Children.. Maddie and Micah. I made them pillowcases and added their names to the sleeve.

Then for fun, because Micah and Maddie are both under 6yrs old.. I made them crayon coloring bags.

It's been a long time since I've made these. I forgot what a great gift they are for kids. And so simple to make. You add crayons and a coloring book inside and away they go!!

I have been sewing a lot lately. I worked on these last FNSI.. but never shared. They weren't finished until the other night. And now they are all in a box on their way to Arizona.

I hope everyone loves their gifts!

I'm sorry I haven't posted this yet! It's been a crazy week. I have been under the weather and we are in full baseball swing at our house too. Between work, practice, games... it's been crazy!

Anyway.. The response to the Conkerr Cancer pillowcase challenge that we had for the April FNSI was AMAZING!!! You all ROCK! We had 174 pillowcases sent in. So cool!

From all the people who mailed in pillowcases, the lady's at Arrow randomly drew a winner of the rolling sewing case.

The winner is Sandy Rowe from Pasco, WA!! If you want to see a picture of the pillowcases.. Check out Arrows blog.

p.s. They just hosted a button contest too.. the pictures are so cute and creative!

Also.. if you are looking for the May FNSI Signup.. it's over HERE on Bobbi's blog... and it's only 2 days away!!

Basket for Baby

One of my coworkers down in Phoenix is about to have her little baby.

It's a boy.. and her theme is Monkeys.

I had a very hard time finding Monkey fabric that was blue. I had a certain fabric in mind because I had used it to make this quilt and gifts. But I knew time wasn't on my side since this fabric was from a couple years ago.

I had originally planned to make a blanket. But since I couldn't find the fabric I wanted.. I had to resort to my scraps. And I had just enough to make this instead.

I started with 6 burp cloths.. I loosely used these instructions that I originally discovered a few years ago. I put super soft light blue flannel down the center.

I love baby gifts that are also useful!

Then I made another soft basket. I seriously love making these. Tutorial HERE.

They are very versatile too. I made one a few years ago for my niece who was coming to visit and filled it with girly stuff.. hair clips.. PJ Boxers.. etc.

You could also make a "Spa" basket for a new Mom or a friend!!

Anyway.. back to the gift.

I rolled up all the burp cloths and put them inside..

And added a tulle bow and a "handmade by heidi" tag.. and then boxed it up and shipped it to Arizona!

Swap Reveal

So I stopped at the post office yesterday to check my mailbox..

And to my surprise, there was a package for little ole' me.. all the way from Australia!!

Maria, from Life on the Block made me this beautiful Sewing Organizer.

The fabric couldn't be more perfect! And the freemotion quilting on here.. amazing job! (I actually have some of this fabric in my stash.. I had plans to make a pin cushion of some kind with it.

When it's open.. there are 4 zipper pouches.. and she filled them with goodies for me.

This retractable measuring tape - perfect since I've always wanted one, but never bought one.

And this little scissors to keep next to my maching for snipping threads. The timing of this couldn't have been better either - because I was just complaining about my little scissor last weekend. My husband oiled them for me but they still needed to be replaced!

She also added these adorable buttons and lace.

And these vintage quilt labels! I love it all!!

The little matching fabric tag Maria added to the scissor was love at first sight! What a great little idea. I'm so stealing this idea Maria!

Thank you so much!

How about you.. Have you received your packages? Tell us about them.. or leave a link in the comments - I'd love to check them out.
