February Friday Night Results

I hope everyone made some progress on projects last night. I was able to get quite a bit done.

We had an event at the school last night and after sitting outside in the cool air - I really wanted to come home and snuggle on the couch. But, as intended, the Friday Night Sew-in commitment gave me the little umph I needed to get in there and sew. Once I started.. I was on a roll!

I have been working on some long overdue home improvement projects. Some big - some small. I will be sharing them with you as they get done. One of them is a re-do of my disorganized laundry room. I'm actually going to decorate it (maybe that will make laundry more fun?.. no?) So, I'm working on a wall hanging quilt that will go above my washer and dryer.

The top is almost done. This was totally, 100% inspired by this post from Jacquie. I fell in love the minute I saw hers. I will show you more detailed pictures once it's complete. I still need to paint the laundry room too.. getting behind the washer and dryer will be a trick for sure.

I also worked on my Postage Stamp quilt-along tutorial that I will be posting for you all tomorrow afternoon (so excited).

What did you work on? Did you make some progress on your WIP's? And since sharing and encouragement to get things done is what the Friday Night Sew-in's are all about - don't forget to share what you worked on last night. You can share on your blog - or on the Flickr group page.. or both.

The giveaway winners will be selected tomorrow from all those who participated and shared. This is what I will be sending one lucky winner..

Bobbi will select a winner over on her blog tomorrow too.. can't wait to see who wins! Pin It

I LOVE your clothes line quilt top :) Oh so cute. That would get me into the laundry room a little more often, or at least brighten my day when I went in there.

What a perfect wall hanging for a laundry room. Really cute!

I participated in my first Friday Night Sew-In last night :). I got a later start than expected, but I got a second wind and accomplished my goal of cutting out all the fabric pieces for a quilt top for my son. Now I'm ready to get sewing today!

Cute clothesline (and who's going to know if you paint behind your washer and dryer?). I stayed up WAY too late sewing after the excitement of John Montgomery's skeleton GOLD and our women's curling team squeaking out a win over Denmark in a tie-breaker. Will take photos after breakfast. Thanks again for the sew-in!!!!

I got two tops finished and two and a half quilts basted last night! One of them even required piecing the backing! I had to post pictures one per post (they're from my phone), so here's the best way to see them:

Thank you for organising Friday night sew-in and I hope that it will be on again next month. As a full-time worker it is hard to find just "sewing time" but this is definitely "do-able" and I was able to complete my project. I am enjoying blog hopping and seeing what everyone has been working on.

That's going to be such a cute little quilt for your laundry room. What a great idea... although I still don't think it will make actually doing the laundry more fun. At least you'll have something fun to look at while you're folding towels.

Last night I completed the quilt top I had been working on. The Friday Night Sew-in was a great idea; my husband wasn't impressed, though. He planned on us watching a movie. Unfortunately, my sewing machine isn't in the living room! haha

Can't wait to see this laundry room quilt finished. It soooo appeals to me . . .

Thanks for once again organising the Sew-In. I was maybe not as productive as I'd hoped, but I enjoyed myself. Such a nice way to spend the evening.

Love the laundry quilt. I decorated my laundry room with a little quilt that says "LAUNDRY", made from some of my husband's old shirts, buttons included.
Thanks for hosting the "FNSI". I usually don't sew on Friday nights, so this was a nice change, and I got a lot accomplished!!
Looking forward to starting the postage stamp quilt.
Thanks again!! ♥

Thanks for organizing this. It's amazing how motivating it is. I worked on projects other than sewing but I'm so happy to have accomplished so much in one night.

Oh I love your clothes line quilt!! I haven't got to post yet but hopefully will tomorrow. Thank you and Bobbi for hosting this. It really does motivate me. I also felt like just resting but I knew all of you were sewing so I got busy!

I fell in love with Jacquie's clothesline quilt, too. I have a friend who would totally love to have a quilt like this ~ who knew how interesting and inspiring a quilt with a clothesline on it can be? I think of that fresh air and sunshine smell that comes from hanging laundry outdoors. Glad to see that you made your own laundry day quilt! Very nice. :-D

If it wasn't for the Friday Night Sew-In, I wouldn't have achieved anything.
Thanks for the push!

Your quilt top is a ripper. Nothing can make doing laundry more pleasant, but you will have a lovely quilt to look at soon. The sew-in was a lot of fun on Friday night. It gave me the motivation I needed.
