FNSI Results and News!

I had a great FNSI last night. In fact.. I’m still sewing today!! How about you?

Although my sewing machine was humming.. and my rotary cutter is now dull, I don’t have much to show you. I’m working on a project for my brother that I’m hoping to finish today – so when that’s done, I’ll post some pictures of it.

But I can show you this little thing I made last night…

Do you know what that is? It’s an ipod cover. Some of you may remember that I made one last year also. The first one looked like this…

But I decided to improve the design and came up with this one.

However – I forgot to accommodate one little detail

Yep, I forgot about the headphones. So I will be making another one soon – maybe today.

NOW – for something really EXCITING!!! Have you ever heard of Arrow Sewing Cabinets? You should really check them out. Their cabinets are every sew’ers dream!

Well, they are sponsoring the giveaway for last nights FNSI!!!! So make sure to share your pictures and show us what you worked on. Get that blog post done! That’s what the FNSI is all about, remember? Encouraging each other to take time for ourselves and make progress on those “To Do” list items.

Here is what we will be giving away tomorrow to one lucky FNSI participant! I’ve been wanting one of these cut n press mats for while now. And that mini spool holder is genius!

Are you on Facebook? Well, so is Arrow Sewing Cabinets. I have been a Facebook fan of theirs for a few weeks now and I can tell you they do some pretty exciting things. Every Friday they giveaway a prize to one of their fans. Yesterday was a fun flirty apron.

AND.. are you ready for this?.. when they get to 1,500 fans they will be giving away a Gidget II sewing table (Moondoggie not included). And every time they get 500 more fans.. they giveaway another Gidget (2,000… 2,500… 3,000.. you get the picture). And I’ve heard that when they get to 5,000 fans they have something BIG planned. I get goosebumps just thinking about it!

So get over there and become a fan!!! Here is a link to their Facebook page.

Now I’m heading back to my sewing room. I’ll meet you all back here tomorrow! Pin It

Love your iPod cover. Great design. Can't the headphone cord just stick out the corner? Or was it storage you forgot?

I had a great time with FNSI last night. I sewed with my daughter! Thanks for hosting and for encouraging us to make time for what we love!

Hi Heidi,
I was handquilting last night so can't see masses of progress - but some at least.
Now just where am I supposed to post? I haven't done this before!! I did a post on my own blog and tried to link to you - not sure if that's right!!
Have a great weekend!

Love the ipod case. I've been asked to make a case for DH's mobile phone so think I might do something along the same lines. Good FNSI last night and those goodies from Arrow look amazing, I've been lusting after one of those cut and press mats for ages. Thanks Heidi.

I did a LOT LOT LOT of sewing, and did a post about it today. I had trouble getting my link back to your blog, but I think it finally works now. Sometimes our beloved Blogger gets the hiccups!

I was sick last night...had all my goodies and sewing ready, but a brutal headache got in the way. Going to try to do a little sewing this evening - will that count?:)
I love planning on my Friday night sew ins..and usually carry it through the whole weekend.
Happy Quilting Day!

Love the IPOD cover.

I did sew, not as much as I was hoping. However I ate copious amounts of chocolate and dreamed and planned of quilts to make in between my activity so that counts for something right ?

This Friday Night Sew In is such a great idea! It was my first and thoroughly enjoyed it. I never knew it could be so much fun sewing with a couple of hundred people via computer! Who woulda thunk it!

Love you IPod cover. Could you somehow put a grommet in the bottom so you can still use it because it turned out so neat? Thanks for sharing the facebook site.

Heidi, How about a round button hole type of opening? Many sewing machines have this available. I think it is called an eyelet, but you may need to make it a little larger in diameter.
Great job on the iPod cover.

Every time I plan a FNSI something seems to come up unfortunately I was unable to join in yet again this time but I did have a Saturday Sew In instead... all day!

Cute Ipod cover - I should make some for the kids for Christmas :)

My friend Nancy came over and we FNSI'd together! I posted a photo to my blog last night - we had a great time and got several items completed, and worked on one other project each that didn't get completed. Can't wait for the next one, woooooooohooooooooooooo!

I posted about my Quiltalong progress and plans to sew more on Saturday, but Saturday sewing was sidetracked by some neighborhood needs. Oh well, maybe later, right. Pictures of my quiltalong progress are posted, though. Thanks for this fun, monthly event.

A very productive FNSI for me this month. 2 finishes and an almost finished and 2 of the 3 items were UFO's.

I don't know if someone has already suggested this, but you could adjust the current cover really easily by putting an eyelet in for the headphone cord to go through and that wouldn't cause you to have another redundant cover lying around! Great job on the new design though. Hugs Naomi
