Bulletproof?

Pel Tex interfacing - have you ever used it for anything? I used it recently and I'm wondering if this is what they use inside bulletproof vests? Ok, not really.. but it's crazy strong. Check it out..

I made these handy organizers and I love how they turned out. So easy to make. The pattern is from Atkinson Designs and can be seen HERE.

The directions are for two different sizes - one square and one rectangle. They have lots of pockets on inside and two zipper pockets on the outside.

The long one would be good for a mail organizer to keep on the kitchen counter.. or next to your favorite chair.

I've been using the square one as my little sewing caddy. I carry all my hand sewing things in here along with things that I want to bring down to my sewing room (rotary blades)

Some of the other possible uses suggested by the pattern designer are to keep next to your sewing machine, or on your desk at work or in the bathroom. Or a fun organizer for a favorite Teacher? The possibilities are endless. And I love how strong they are!

So if you are looking for a fun organizer made by you with some of your favorite fabric.. check out this pattern and make one! But be careful.. you'll be hooked! Pin It

Wonderful, love all the pockets, and they use Kevlar in bullet proof vests LOL.

That would be handy for carting around scrapbooking tools as well. Lol, now I'll have to make 2!

Thanks for posting that pattern! I have been looking on line for purse organizers to use in a new bag I got for Christmas. Making my own will certainly mean it meets my needs! Thanks again!

Yes, I've used Pel Tex. That's cause I'm working on the very same project :-) I'm working on hand sewing the bindings on now, that's the slow part. I love yours though Heidi!

I made a cloth basket for the sew in and used the interfacing for the construction of the basket. It is very strong! I need to go get some more so I can make a few more baskets. I want to try out a different basket pattern this time. (There are several basket designs that I like.)

that longer styled one would be a great place to store rulers! I am using a long window box planter for all of mine and it works great... where as yours with handles and pockets would be even better! and could easily pick up and go to class... and the pockets great for holding spare blades hidden from kids but close by... or those paper instructions for the E. Burnes geese rulers that I have to hunt for....

great idea! :)

Love from Texas! ~bonnie
